Hello Chamber members,

Special thanks go out to all our members who have renewed their membership for 2008. Our chamber is very fortunate, as it continues to grow each year. Thanks to all our members who support our efforts for a better business community.

Nasty winter weather has hampered a few of our recent events including our February Leadership Portsmouth session that was to focus on our area's health care. Also hampered a bit was our first Business After Hours of the year at Shawnee State University (SSU). The event, sponsored by SSU and Sodexho, started off with an afternoon of snow and sleet, but a few members braved the elements and took in an enjoyable planetarium show and were treated to great food prepared by Sodexho.

Portsmouth Murals, Inc. recently had a very successful Baseball Banquet that honored local baseball greats that are immortalized on the floodwall mural project. The banquet, in its fourth year, serves as the organizations main fundraiser which is used to perpetuate and maintain the murals. As the weather brightens, make it a point to visit the downtown and check out the newest mural commemorating the Tour of the Ohio Scioto River Valley (TOSRV). It's located on a detached part of the main floodwall between Front and Second Streets at the south end.

Don't forget to get your tickets for Reds Day. We'll be heading to Cincinnati on Sunday, April 20th to watch the Reds take on the Milwaukee Brewers. Tickets are a bargain at $11.
